The Storm Restoration Process
1. Call NHH Roofing Plus
After a big storm hits your neighborhood, we recommend homeowners do a quick visual inspection. If you suspect your home has been damaged, contact NHH Roofing Plus to schedule a free inspection and estimate with one of our experienced project estimators. If your property loss warrants an insurance claim, our project estimator will advise you to file a claim with your insurance carrier. We will work with you to schedule a meeting with your insurance adjustor. Discovering storm damage on your home is never fun, but our team of expert contractors is here for you.
2. Report an Insurance Claim
First things first…find your homeowner’s insurance policy. You will need to directly reference your policy number when contacting your insurance representative. You can either call or file your claim online. This is a great time to ask about your deductible (if you are unsure how much it is). After filing a claim, you will be assigned a claim number and a claims adjuster. It’s important to keep this information handy for future reference. This is also a good time to contact your mortgage company’s property loss department to notify them of the damage sustained to your home. Request a claim packet to be sent directly to you. This will help speed up the process of recovering your insurance proceeds.
3. We Work With Your Insurance Adjustor
Your home insurance company will send an adjustor to your home to inspect the damage. We’ll set up a meeting with your insurance adjuster to show them where we see damage. Once the insurance adjuster assesses the damages and approves your claim, you will be provided a claim summary detailing the approved repairs and replacement. This report will be the specifications for us to follow to repair your home. Let us know when you receive this report, as most insurance companies use predetermined prices (based on market analysis) for their estimates. We will work with your insurance company to ensure they are paying a reasonable market value for the work needed to restore your home.
4. We Restore Your Home
The experienced team at NHH Roofing Plus will obtain appropriate permits and schedule crews to come out and restore your home. We will schedule dumpster delivery and pick up and make arrangements with your local city inspector to ensure that the work is completed in compliance with your local ordinances.
NOTE: If you see any damage caused by this recent storm (ie. broken glass panes, cracked siding or trim, missing shingles, dented decking etc.), you have grounds for an insurance claim. If you experienced a hail storm but can’t see any problems from the ground, it’s still quite possible that your roof has hail damage.

We Help with Obtaining Supplements and Depreciation Recovery
In order for NHH Roofing Plus to provide you with the utmost craftsmanship and quality products, it is essential that all work being replaced is directly covered in full by your insurance carrier. In some circumstances, oversights are made by the insurance adjuster and critical components of your claim are not initially sighted within your negotiated estimate. Our administrative staff will contact the adjuster to negotiate the difference. We will provide the adjuster with an Xactimate scope, pictures, and diagrams clarifying the work that was initially omitted on their estimate. Upon approval, your insurance carrier will issue a supplemental check covering the damages.
If you have a mortgage on your home, it is highly likely that your insurance carrier will issue all payments with dual payees, made payable to you and your mortgage company. Your mortgage company may be involved because they have a vested interest in the home. It is in their best interest to have all repairs completed. We will work directly with your mortgage provider to facilitate the process of retrieving the mortgage’s endorsement. In order to obtain the endorsement, the mortgage provider will require the homeowner and the contractor to complete a set of documents, also known as the mortgage claim packet. We will need to obtain a third party mortgage authorization in order to facilitate the process on your behalf. Handling the endorsement of the mortgage provider can be a tedious task, as all mortgages have strict guidelines to enforce that all insurance proceeds are used directly for the repairs to the property. With your assistance we can work together to ensure that the endorsement is handled promptly.
Once all work on your home has been completed, our administrative staff will provide the insurance carrier with the necessary documentation to have all depreciation released based directly upon the work that was completed. Almost all insurance carriers withhold depreciation on each item within the homeowner’s claim. By doing so, the insurance carrier ensures that all work is restored properly. We employ full time administrative staff that works diligently to ensure that your claim is processed and handled in a timely manner. Our team of professionals will make necessary follow up calls with your insurance provider to confirm that all required documentation is on file for the release of depreciation. We kindly ask that all insurance proceeds are sent to NHH Roofing Plus upon receipt.
